The single cutaway Viper of the second generation of Ovation solidbody family boasts a solid maple body and 24 fret maple neck.  The neck is slightly slimmer than the other Ovation solidbodies of that time (1-5/8" va. 1-11/16").  Hardware is chrome Schaller including the adjustable stop tail-piece.  The Viper was available Natural and Greyburst finishes and some later year models had the name Viper" engraved on the pickguard.  Standard electronics include two passive single coil pickups, a master volume and master tone control and a three way toggle mounted on the pickguard.  Also available was a 3 pickup version called the Viper III.
