Balladeer K-1111
My first Ovation was a Balladeer K1111 in August of 1971 shown HERE. In a classic case of youthful regrets, I traded it in 1974 for an Ovation amplifier. To say that I have regretted that decision ever since would be an under-statement. But alas in 2019 I stumbled up the twin sibling of my original, separated by only 20 serial numbers. And this beauty that I found was in virtually showroom condition. The bracing is a classic X-style and this guitar just oozes with tone and has a huge voice. The enclosed chrome Kluson tuners and the walnut winged bridge set off the subtle aged patina of this Balladeer wonderfully. Plays like a dream and sends my mind back to those wonderful memories of the early 70’s
