Lost Art Vintage Koa Special 12 Fret
In early 2007, Lost Art Vintage Instruments of Bellmawr NJ built a limited run of 12 Koa topped guitars. These rare guitars were built based on a prototype of the previous year. The most notable characteristics of this instrument are of course the koa top and the unique sound hole. Ovation has experimented for years with alternative soundhole design and placement, and this offset design trimmed in tortoise shell provides for a unique voicing of this instrument. Louder, deeper and clearer than you would normally expect from a koa topped guitar. The same tortoise shell trim is applied to the body edge binding and fretboard binding. For maximum acoustic tone, this is a 12 fret design guitar with a wide 1-3/4 neck and beautiful koa faced slotted headstock and gold Schaller tuners. The bowl is the Contour design and electronics feature the new VIP-5 image modeling system.
